KISIThe Republic of Kisi

A nation run by chickens

Where Every Chicken
Has a Story

Welcome to the Republic of Kisi, a nation of hens and roosters who looked at the alternatives and decided to run the place themselves. They have a President, a Coop Assembly, a free press, a sports league, and very strong opinions about breakfast. Every chicken has a name, a story, and an opinion, and it is all clucking eggxellent.

A Word from Her Excellency

“Visitor, you are welcome. You will find here a nation of industry and dignity, where the eggs are counted honestly, the queue is straight, and breakfast is at seven, not seven-ish. Walk among us. Learn our stories. And if the opposition offers you her figures, take them; they are, irritatingly, correct.”

President Adédoyin “Mama Decree” Ọlásunkànmí

The Republic's sweetheart. Separated from her mother at three weeks old, she arrived at Kisi small and silent, and grew, egg by egg, into the most-followed young citizen in the nation.

In loving memory

Bantu

Night Watchman of Coop Two

He heard the grate move first. He gave the alarm, then stood in the doorway until every one of the twelve chicks was out the far side. All twelve got out. The flock whistles at dusk for him now.

If you would like to say something to Bantu, or to the chicks he saved, there is a place for it.
